Athena Merit Awards
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 20, 2024
For the Athena Music and Leadership Camp, June 23-27, 2024
The Athena Music and Leadership Camp’s Financial Award Program offers support to deserving young ladies to explore the benefits of Athena. Awards are presented to students completing grades 5-11 with at least one year of band or private lessons experience. Recipients are chosen through an application process.
Awards are presented based on the merit of the application and director recommendation. Individual awards can range from $200 to $400 to assist with the camp tuition.
Students will be notified of award decisions on a rolling basis until funding is unavailable.
Application Requirements
- Fully complete the online application. This includes a 200-word essay on the following: What would you like to attend the Athena Music and Leadership Camp? What do you hope to gain from the experience?
- Have your band director or private music teacher complete a reference form that may be accessed here: TEACHER REFERENCE FORM
- Submit your application no later than May 20, 2024.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The Gift of Music Foundation Award
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2024
For the Athena Music and Leadership Camp, June 23-27, 2024
This is a need-based scholarship for those with qualifying financial circumstances. Eligibility is based on the same household income standards used by many school systems and government aid programs to determine eligibility. Please check the qualification table on the application to see if you meet the household requirements for this scholarship. If your household income is below the Annual Income level, your student qualifies for the scholarship.
Scholarship covers full tuition including housing, meals, all leadership, empowerment, and music clinics and workshops, large and small group instruction, and an Athena camp t-shirt.
This scholarship does not include transportation to and from camp.
Double Reed Award
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 1, 2024
For the Athena Summit, CHARLOTTE, April 6, 2024
Application is for 6th-12th grade oboe and bassoon students to attend the 2024 Athena Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a needs-based scholarship for those with qualifying financial circumstances.
Scholarship covers the full registration fee. Scholarship does not include transportation to and from the event.
Students will be notified of award decisions on a rolling basis.
