Why AVA?
How does it work?
What is the schedule?
NEW THIS YEAR: ELECTIVE TRACKS!
What if I don't have access to my instrument? Can I still attend AVA?
COLLEGE STUDENTS - APPLY TO BE A MUSE!
Are you a college student in music or music education with a desire to learn more and be a positive role model. Apply to join our team as a Muse!
TUITION: Only $189
Join middle and high school-aged young ladies from around the world in a virtual summer camp experience by enrolling in the Athena Virtual Academy (AVA).
An extension of the Athena Music and Leadership Camp, the AVA is the perfect place to work remotely with professional women in music, develop and sharpen leadership skills, and collaborate with friends online.
Tuition includes access to expert musicians and counselors as well as access to tools for leadership success in music and beyond.
Bring the collaborative spirit of the Athena Camp to your computer as we strive to “Empower Young Women Through Music” this summer at the AVA!
In addition to all of the music, leadership, and empowerment seminars, each AVA camper will have the opportunity to choose an Elective Track during registration.
This means you will have one class per day on the same topic: composition, jazz, leadership/conducting, or music technology.
No experience necessary!
Are you interested in jazz but never knew where to start? Or, have you been involved in your school's program and want to learn even more? Then, this elective is for you! Learn the basics of jazz technique, improvisation, and musicianship on any instrument. No experience required. All instruments welcome.
In addition to the leadership training that is included for all who attend our Athena Camps, this elective will take a deeper dive and is the perfect place for students who will be or desire to become drum majors and/or section leaders in their music program. This elective will be led by our faculty who have served as and have trained drum majors and section leaders at the college and high school levels.
This elective will offer hands-on experiences creating, playing, and editing music using different types of web-based software. Students will also have the opportunity to learn from women working in the field of music industry and sound engineering. AVA’s Music Technology elective track is designed to expand the awareness and skill set of young ladies who are passionate about both music and computer science.
