Athena Virtual Academy

Your Premiere Camp Experience for Young Women in Music

Why AVA?

  • All female faculty consisting of highly successful, professional musicians and educators. CLICK TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT OUR FACULTY!
  • Exciting curriculum with creative music and leadership courses
  • Exclusive guest artist recitals with Q&A
  • Off-computer activities
  • Live master classes with professional musicians
  • Learn, make friends, and have fun from your home!

How does it work?

  • All you need is your computer or mobile device, webcam capabilities, and a quiet place to connect with camp. Earphones are a plus, but are not required. Once registered, we will notify you via email with instructions on how to access the AVA each day.

What is the schedule?

  • Camp will begin at 10:30 am EDT/ 7:30 am PDT daily.
  • Campers will attend four 45-minute live sessions each day plus an evening private recital/activity.
  • To combat computer fatigue, breaks will be scheduled throughout the day.
  • There will be large and small group sessions as well as separate sessions for middle school and high school students. Therefore, the actual schedule will be finalized once final enrollment numbers are secured.

NEW THIS YEAR:  ELECTIVE TRACKS!

  • Choose your own elective track -- leadership, jazz, music tech.
  • Limited space is available in each track, so register early!
  • CLICK TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT ELECTIVES!

What if I don't have access to my instrument? Can I still attend AVA?

  • YES! We understand that, due to new restrictions and/or altered schedules of many school districts throughout the country, each camper may or may not have access to her musical instrument. Because of this, all musical activities will have an instrument and no instrument option.

WHAT IS AN ELECTIVE TRACK?

In addition to all of the music, leadership, and empowerment seminars, each AVA camper will have the opportunity to choose an Elective Track during registration.

No experience necessary!

In addition to the leadership training that is included for all who attend our Athena Camps, this elective will take a deeper dive and is the perfect place for students who will be or desire to become drum majors and/or section leaders in their music program. This elective will be led by our faculty who have served as and have trained drum majors and section leaders at the college and high school levels.

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY

LEADERSHIP AND CONDUCTING
